It is our desire that this web page serve as a bridge to the many diverse organizations and individuals that support our mission and as a resource for events that impact the lives of women and families in Ohio.


Ohio Women, Inc. (OWI), founded in 1977, is a board of volunteers dedicated to improving the status of women and families in Ohio. Informing and educating the public about the needs of women in Ohio, OWI is a nonprofit, nonpartisan, educational and research organization, bringing together individuals and affiliated groups.  That means teaming up with women from every generation, empowering individuals, partnering with leaders and representatives supporting equal rights, government officials, and educators to improve the status of women and families in Ohio.

Women's Equality Day was instituted by Rep. Bella Abzug and first established in 1971, to commemorate the passage of the 19th Amendment, the Woman Suffrage Amendment to the U.S. Constitution, which gave U.S. women full voting rights in 1920.
