Women's Resource Center at Kent State University

Located on the Main Campus of the University The Center's mission statement follows: "Kent State University's Women's Resource Center exists to facilitate the advancement of and to enhance the quality of educaational experience and professional life for women students, faculty and staff on all campuses. The Women's Resource Center serves as a resource for advocacy by providing education, information, and referral programs and services. The Center is dedicated to promoting dialogue and interaction with all campus constituencies concerned with the pursuit of equity and equality. A secondary purpose is to provide collaborative outreach and support services to women in Kent's larger educational and geographical communities." The Center offers, on site, a library of books, magazines, newspapers, videos, up-to-date flyers, brochures and handbooks. Support groups and programs serve sexual assault victims, Weight Watchers, victims of domestic violence, sobriety and people who have body image issues and concerns. Meeting space at the center is utilized by AAUW, the Women's Studies Program and Professional Women of KSU. |
